Friday night and time for general debauchery. Finally kickin' it after a week of studying and working. But after nights like these always comes the dawn and well..that morning after. So for when you're looking for that chill tune to get you back on track, I've got you covered like makeup. This song isn't exactly the newest, but hey this blog is about good music and that's what'll be delivered.
CRS, Child Rebel Soldiers, the hip-hop super group comprised of Lupe, Kanye and Pharell dropped "Us Placers" in 2007 and it's by far my favorite CRS track to date. Flowing over the semi-haunting Thom Yorke (of Radiohead) song "The Eraser" are three of the smoothest rappers in the game, and the result is super easy to digest. You almost forget they're rapping about people getting caught up in the rat race and changing themselves as they try to pursue minor glimpses of fame. The message might be a little bit of a downer, but that's not what makes this a Saturday morning jam.
It's all about the chill.
Plus you gotta love a music video that's just as good as the song, I really enjoyed this vid.
On a final note, it's pretty funny who they cast to play Radiohead's Thom Yorke in the video, you think he had any say in the casting?
